Estimates, not measurements

All values — calories burned, METs, fat oxidation, heart-rate zones, distance, and pace — are estimates derived from population-level metabolic equations (ACSM) and standard formulas. Real-world results vary by ±10–20% based on:

  • Individual fitness level, age, sex, and body composition
  • Treadmill calibration and belt accuracy
  • Running economy, gait, and form
  • Environment (temperature, humidity, altitude)
  • Hydration, recent meals, and recovery state

Heart-rate zones

The 220 − age formula used to estimate maximum heart rate has a standard error of roughly ±10–12 bpm. For accurate training zones, consult a sports medicine professional or undergo a supervised stress test.

Consult a professional before starting

If you have a heart condition, high blood pressure, diabetes, joint problems, are pregnant, or have any chronic medical condition — consult your doctor before starting any new exercise program. Stop exercising immediately and seek medical attention if you experience chest pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, or unusual fatigue.
